A PERFECT DAY

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph the wedding of Claire & Daniel in the Lake District. This is my favourite area in England and although we have had awful weather for the last few weeks it was a beautiful sunny day in a stunning location. The farm looked down on Lake Windermere and the woods were full of bluebells. On the morning of the wedding my wife was walking in the woods and sitting in the middle of the bluebells was a young deer, if only she had had a camera

I recently promised to try and do 1 blog a week but I have been laid up with a nasty virus for the last seven days and haven’t felt like doing much at all but today I wanted to post a few photos from a February wedding at one of my favourite venues Iscoyd Park. I think seeing the reaction of the brides father when he walked into the room and saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time sums up what it is that makes my job so special. Georgina looked stunning and her father was completely blown away , those moments could have been lost but luckily he will remember how he felt at that moment whenever he looks at the photos

TEEPEE WEDDING

I am going to try and find the time to do more regular blogs for this year, showing photos from some of the weddings that I cover. In January I had a lovely wedding in Shropshire in some teepees. It was a cold but bright day which threw up some interesting lighting. Ben & Flora were great to work with and it was a real pleasure to cover the wedding.

These are our two new kittens, Monty and Amber, two days after we got them. They are seven weeks old. I don’t think there will be any work done for the next few weeks!

OVER TO FRANCE

Last weekend my wife and I visited my eldest brother and his family in France. They have recently done up a beautiful house but have now decided to move to Ibiza so I wanted to see them before they went. The weather has been lovely over there but we had two massive nights of thunderstorms while we were there. They have a pet hare called Peter and he seemed to know the thunder was on it’s way along time before it started. I have attached a few photos of him

BLIND DATE

Once again I was back at Rowton Hall at the weekend . This was one of two weddings I covered near Chester on Saturday and Sunday. Leith and Heidi met on Blind Date with Cilla Black about 10 years ago . This was one of the most enjoyable weddings that I have ever covered, they were a stunning couple and knew how to enjoy thenselves. Heidi is by all accounts an excellent horse rider and she showed her skills on the bucking bronco later in the evening , even after a few glasses of wine!

SPRING WEDDING

I have spent the last couple of weekends working at Rowton Hall near Chester. This is one of my favourite venues because I feel that they always look after their clients really well. Covering as many weddings as many of the modern venues do, can cause a certain amount of complacency but at Rowton they are always very friendly and give a very personal service. I was lucky enough to cover the wedding of Jen & Ed ,a really lovely couple . I am very fortunate to meet many nice people in my job but I was especially fortunate to cover this wedding. They were a very attractive couple and I really enjoyed my day

SANDHOLE OAKBARN

Over the last few weeks I have been working at Sandhole Oakbarn a number of times. This fairly new venue outside Congleton has gone from strength to strength and I really admire the owners for the way that they have transformed the place from a working farm to an outstanding wedding venue. As you have gathered from a previous e-mail I love my food and this is a place where I always get served some delicious food and Annette from Top Table really looks after everybody.

I am not one for posed photographs but I have posted a few from the day to show you that if you are patient and grab the oppurtunity you can get some very dramatic skies after a torrential downpour

Recently I photographed the second of three weddings that I am covering for a group of friends. Anna was a bridesmaid for her friend Caroline a few weeks before and I am also covering the wedding of Helen who was a bridesmaid for Anna. The setting for the marquee was stunning. It was on a hill in Harthill and had wonderful views across Cheshire. My old friends Tent and Garden and Lightec were once again working with me and I really enjoyed my day.
