A TRIP INTO MY PAST

Over the weekend I made a trip over to Dublin to bid for a Simmental bull for a friend of mine in Scotland. The trip was a great success, and I was well looked after by the Irish breeders. Although I love my job as a photographer, I have never forgotten my farming background and I love meeting up with other breeders. In a strange way my early years working with and judging cattle has helped me with my photography. There was alot of publicity around the bull, and his name Auroch Ace was very apropriate. For those of you from an agricultural background the bull was just twelve months old and was champion at the pre sale show

AN AUSSIE BASH

Last weekend I photographed at a lovely wedding outside Chester. Sophia was from Australia and James runs a local vet’s practice. It was one of those really special weddings to be involved with and there was the usual banter when Australians and English come together. Once again Tent and Garden did the marquee and Lightec the lighting. I thought the marquee looked amazing when it was all lit up. It was also nice to meet up again with Mandy from Golden Goose catering, she always looks after me and it is great to have good food when you are working. The conditions were not ideal for a wedding with a very strong wind and low sun but I always enjoy the challenge of winter weddings and I had a really enjoyable day with some really nice people. The couple are now in Australia having a second sunset wedding ceremony with alot of the guests that couldn’t make it over for the English version

Another Snow covered weekend

Once again we had a sprinkling of snow in the north west over the weekend. My younger brother was staying at my parents for the weekend with his wife and two children. It is not very often that I take photos of my family but I decided to get one or two of the children building a snowman

Over the weekend I covered a 21st Party in Bickerton. Although I had never met Holly until I arrived at the party and was only there for about three hours I really enjoyed being part of her special day. There were alot of familiar faces amongst the suppliers and guests, especially Amanda and Tim from Tent & Garden who did the marquee and Lightech who supplied the lighting. They are both excellent at what they do and I love working with them. There was a Ski theme and the marquee looked amazing although very difficult to photograph in because of the smoke machine and the very low lighting. The house is set in a wonderful position on one of the few hilly areas in Cheshire and although there was alot of fog around, everyone seemed to find the party without too much difficulty.
